How to Transfer All Content Types from Android to Android Using Beam (Share Nearby)

The Content Transfer Process in Steps

  • Download the Beam app from the Google Play Store into your Android smartphones.
  • Once installed, open the app on both devices. Allow permissions to proceed further.
  • Select “Sender” on the old Android device to send the data and “Receiver” on the new Android to receive the data.
  • From your, old Android smartphone select the content you want to send (share). Scroll through the tab above to explore different mediums such as photos, videos, and music.

  • Review your selected items and click send.
  • Here comes the important part. After selecting your items, you need to select how to send the content. Do you want to share files remotely (through Wi-Fi) or Nearby (through the internet)?
  • In the case of Share Nearby, the next screen will show the available receiver devices. Select the one (i-e the receiver device)that you want to send your content to. The available devices will be shown on the sender’s screen. Select the receiver device from the options given. After selecting (Connection establishment) with the receiver device. Tap to start the transfer.

Note:  On both devices, the Share Nearby option should be opted and make sure that both devices are connected to the same Internet connection.
  • You can track the progress of your transfer. You can stop the process any minute by pressing disconnect
  • When the files have been transferred, you are done!
  • After the transfer is complete, you can view all your files from the history section on the receiver side.
